The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t wait until the NFL draft to make upgrades on the defensive side of the ball, trading third-round picks with the Baltimore Ravens to get Timmy Jernigan, the Eagles announced Tuesday.
It was a cheap deal for the Eagles, who will move back 25 spots in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft to acquire the defensive tackle. Philadelphia will send the No. 74 pick to the Ravens in exchange for the No. 99 pick and Jernigan.

John Elway deflected Romo interest in late March, seemingly clearing the way for the Texans, who have a team filled with offensive weapons as well as a stout defense. A perfect fit for Romo.

There are not a ton of quarterbacks left on the market, and Romo is better than all of them. Unfortunately, Bitonio missed most of the 2016 season after suffering a Lisfranc injury in Week 5. Cam Erving started 12 games at center before bouncing over to give right tackle a try, and the Browns’ patchwork line allowed 66 sacks on the various quarterbacks who started for Cleveland last season. That’s 17 more than the closest team, the Los Angeles Rams, allowed all year.
